Favor Ideas for Backyard Weddings

There are hundreds of favors you could choose for your backyard wedding. These are just a couple of ideas I came across and really love!

The flower seeds are well suited for most backyard weddings since most are nature-based! Besides, aren't they beautiful! Your guests will love them!

Let's not forget chocolate! It is perhaps the simplest of all favors - and most appreciated ;) All you'll need is a stylish box in your wedding theme color, then fill it with a yummy chocolate treat!

Invitation Ideas for Your Backyard Wedding

There are some great invites online - in fact searching for invites is what helped me create my wedding theme. These three are only the tip of the iceberg, but, I think they're a great inspirational start. Y

When picking your invitation, you can go with something really literal, like a specific flower, or just go with a basic color or even "feeling" for the event.

Some benefits to being literal about a specific flower is that it will reduce costs - lots of one flower is less expensive that lots of different flowers. Going with a color or feeling gives you a lot of flexibility with decorations and flowers.

Themes for Backyard Wedding Ideas

Keep it simple and use nature as your backdrop! These are some nature-based themes I really love for backyard wedding ideas.

Nature Gone Wild

This theme is pretty simple, but, could be on the pricey side unless you're smart about the plants you have in your garden. Huge leafy centerprices are a great touch for this type of theme!

Tea Party

Just fill second-hand tea pots of various sizes and colors and with a simple wildflower arrangement. Your special favor for a tea party can be, tea.... pretty simple huh! BUT, very classy and special.

Patio Lanterns

Everything from your decorations surrounding your dance floor and eating area can involve patio lanterns. Even your centerpiece can be a pretty patio lantern.

Summer Garden

This is as simple as it gets! Pick a color you love, plant tons of flowers in your garden in that color (or its compliments) and away you go. For table decorations you can get either clear flower vases or vases in the color of your theme. You can also get watering cans as your centerpiece - which I actually think is my best idea this month :)

Just pick a color

You don't have to have a specific theme if you don't want. For instance, chocolate favor boxes in your theme color, personalized

Great Accessories to finish off Your Backyard Wedding Ideas!

I love these accessories! The parasol is a really thoughtful gift for your wedding party and important guests. It will really make you stand out. Plus, the photos will be amazing!

The dried rose petals are a wonderful addition for your lawn, aisle, or scattered on your table. It could also be used as confetti, which is also really lovely in photos!

And then, there's the hanging floral cone which I think is just lovely for the back of chairs in the aisle. To keep costs down, you can put them only on the chairs in the outside row.

If you don't know much about gardening, visit a garden center (or very experienced friend) to ask what you can plant. Some important questions include

• Will my flower of choice in bloom when I need it
• What kind of flowers can I get in the color I want
• How much work does this plant require

Get Gardening Help

Evening if you're a wiz in the garden, you'll be too busy the days and weeks before your wedding to clean, mow, water and weed. Get some help. You can always ask a neighbor or put an ad in your local paper if your budget doesn't include a professional.
