One of the best things
we did to simplify was to include a "we have a website card" in
our invitations. This informed everyone that all
information
regarding
the wedding was on our site. For us, it was a really good idea.
Since we both had tons of people coming from out of town, having
info online really reduced stress! It allowed
us to put all of the travel information (air, car,
hotel)
in one spot that everyone had access to.
- Maps of events
- Dates
- Potential Hotels
- Dinner
This saved us many phone calls with
questions about where and when each event was taking place.
When I talked to our friends, they said they loved the RSVP
feature. In fact, I'd say about 80% of our guests
replied online! I know I sure preferred this with my friends
wedding. Getting to a postbox can be such a pain.
This alone is a huge reason it's so great to create your own
wedding website. Traditional paper RSVP's can be so confusing!

A
Wedding Website Helps You Avoid those "Awkward" Questions
Also, once they were on the site, the online
registry also
made it very convenient for our guests to give us gifts that
we actually wanted. It sure made the issue of informing people of our
registry less awkward!
We
Were Able to Include "Important Family & Friends" Who Couldn't
Attend
The website was a huge success
with our guests who came to the wedding. It was equally
special for our friends and family around the world who couldn't
make it. Like our grandparents, who were too ill! And our cousins
in Europe and the far reaches of Canada who just couldn't afford
it.
Our wedding website solved the problem!
- They were able to see pictures of the additions
to the family.
- While I was getting ready my cousins posted hairdresser pictures
online.
- Right before we left, we posted a photo of me all
dressed and ready to go!
- They were the first to see photos - my sister uploaded them
first thing the next day
They were thrilled!
And the main point is, they felt like they
were part of the event .
- We didn't have to send personalized emails
to those who couldn't make it
- Our grandparents didn't have to learn how to use email!
- Everyone felt really special!
Early on in the stage, they even sent us
messages that they wanted us to post on the website. It was really
special! Apparently it made some of our friends cry!
So
in answer to the question posed in the title of this page, this
former skeptic highly recommends a wedding website for every
engaged couple!
All of these reasons make me think it would
be insane not to create your own wedding website! |
