Disapointed in Punta Cana

Saona - Go their if you go the Dominican Republic!

My husband (hee hee) and I went on a honeymoon to Punta Cana in the Caribbean. We stayed at the Natura Park Spa & Resort.

It wasn't very good, I have to be honest.... I feel guilty saying that because we LOVED the staff. We couldn't believe how hard they worked. They must have been so incredibly tired!

But, the rooms were blah, the beach was horribly weedy (really really weedy!), the food was quite bad, and even though it's an eco resort they clipped the wings off of poor flamingos and spray painted them so they'd be bright pink!

On the plus side, the weather was great. We were there during Christmas, which was a nice break from the snow back home. The rooms weren't dirty...but my husband did see a cockroach, but didn't tell me until we got home.

And, you're on the ocean so it's always a nice break.

I'm sure it could have been worse, but, it wasn't exactly a honeymoon out of a fairy tale book.

Oh.... if you do really want to go the Dominican, go to Saona. That's what the photo is above. It's the tropical paradise we had in mind!
