Multi
cultural weddings are very special. Even if you don't come from two
different backgrounds you may still want to include culture in your
wedding.
In fact, it is one way to personalize
this magical time in your life.
Creating a wedding including more than one culture involves taking
the values from a culture that are most important to you.
Choosing your themes can include a complete traditional cermony.
It could also be as simple as including it the music during dinner.
Or,
the food
that you eat and the colors of your wedding.
Indian
and Polish Wedding
An
Indian and Polish wedding is
something that a friend of mine planned.
Her wedding included several hints from both
their
Indian and Polish heritages. It was actually one of the more
lovely weddings I've been to.
Here's what they did:
- They had a buffet and served a combination of Polish, Indian
and western food
- They walked down the aisle to the sound of an accordian playing
classical music
- Dinner music was performed by a Sitar musician
- They were married
by an Officiant and Indian pastor. It was very unique and interesting!
Borrowing
From Asian Culture
Many people include Asian themes in as a way
to create a wedding including hints from other places.
This may not include clothing or ceremony tradtions. It could include
colors,
music
and even
type of food.
These are just a couple of examples.. We'd love
to hear your ideas for multi-cultural weddings!
