Guide For Gracious Brides
and Grooms
|
Wedding
favor etiquette is all about people polite, while keeping it real
and staying within your means.
Before you go any further, providing a favor to your guests is
a must! - no if's and's or but's. It is a form of thanks,
and on your
special
day expressing your
gratitude
will
only
bring
you
more
joy into your lives. There is however a lot of lee-way in terms
of what you give your guests and how much it costs.

The
Low-down On Wedding Favor Etiquette |
 |
How
Much To Spend
You don't have to spend
a lot on favors to offer your guests something truly wonderful.
If you're really on a tight budget, have you thought about DIY
favors? Anything from chocolate to bottles of wine are acceptable.
Anywhere from $1 per favor to $15 per favor is acceptable. I
would say $3-$5 is the average.
|
 |
One
Favor or Two per couple?
It depends on the favor! If it's
wine, one is fine. If it's bite-sized chocolate, two would be
a better idea.
If you're on a tight budget,
go for one favor per couple. Just try to get a regular sized
chocolate
vs. mini chocolate. |
 |
How
To Hand Out Favors
Here are four options.
1) You can have them displayed
at the end of the reception line. 2) You can hand them
out personally in the reception line. 3)
You can have them displayed on a table after the dinner
so people take them on their way out. 4) You can have them displayed
at
each table setting.

Wedding
Etiquette Advice - How
To Pick an Appropriate Favor |
 |
Get
Something You Can Afford
Remember this K.I.S.S
planning rule! In order to keep it simple + special, it has to
remain
on budget! Packaging
like ribbon and boxes really fancy up a
simple gift while fitting with your theme and impressing guests.
A simple flower is also a lovely and inexpensive idea.
|
 |
Get
Something That Fits Your Theme
Regardless of the price, the gift
will be a hit if it fits your theme. If you don't have a big
budget get simple chocolates and use appropriate packaging. If
you have a big budget and your theme is a garden wedding, provide
people with a potted plant or a bottle of quality wine.
|
 |
Personalize
Your Gift
Since this is a special
occasion celebrating you and your partner. Not only does the
gift itself have
to provide a personal touch but using labels
or hangtag's with your names displayed also adds a special
touch. I love the idea of personalized
ribbon as well!

Gifts
That Can Be Used
We are part of society
that looks down on wastefulness. Go for something that people
will use. Flower seeds or bulbs, theme-focused
candles, soap,lip
balm, a notepad made of handmade paper, or even chopsticks are
great examples.
|
 |
Edible
Gifts
Gifts
that people can eat or drink are appreciated and fit a
variety of budgets. For food, consider chocolates, candy and cookies!
Beverages can include tea,
coffee, homemade wine or a favorite drink of you and your partner.
|
 |
A
Donation To A Charity
This is a popular idea.
Make it personalized by donating to a charity you believe in.
If you are environmentalists, support an environmental movement.
If
you
both love kids, then
perhaps donate to a charity
supporting children?!
